Jon Scieszka (GalleyCat)Jon Scieszka has signed a deal with Candlewick Press. The renowned children’s books author plans to write a Mother Goose-inspired book entitled DaDa Goose’s Book of Complete Nonsense.

Liz Bicknell, an executive editorial director and associate publisher, negotiated the terms of acquisition with Steven Malk, a literary agent at Writer’s House. The release date has been scheduled for November 2016.

Scieszka (pictured, via) gave this statement in the press release: “The idea for this book came out of playing around. Surrounding myself with the books and art and music I love most, from Borges and Barth to Duchamp, Calvino, Man Ray, and Banksy, I found my pile of myths, fairy tales, and nursery rhymes sandwiched between Raymond Queneau’s Exercises in Style and my collections of Zen koans. And realized: I Love Nonsense. Deeply connected literate historical nonsense.”
