Mariska Hargitay 200 (GalleyCat)Mariska Hargitay will serve as a narrator for the Hamilton: The Revolution audiobook. This actress (pictured, via) has become well-known for playing Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator behind the hit Broadway musical, and Jeremy McCarter, a cultural critic and theater artist, collaborated on writing the book. Both of them will lend their voices to the audiobook as well. Hargitay will read the prose parts, Miranda will take care of the footnotes, and McCarter will oversee the introduction.

Manuel, who specifically requested Hargitay’s participation, gave this statement in the press release: “Mariska, in addition to being the #1 fan of the show, represents, to me, much of what Hamilton is about – tough, smart, and New York. She’s an essential part of this city; it feels only right for her to narrate the story. And she has a killer voice! I want to hear her telling the story.” Grand Central Publishing will release the hardcover print book and the audiobook on April 12. (via Entertainment Weekly)
