Lucy Knisley has landed a deal with First Second Books. She plans to create a graphic novel about “pregnancy, reproductive medicine, and adult sex-ed” entitled Kid Gloves.
Earlier this year, Knisley revealed in a comic on her website that she and her husband are expecting a child. The experience has inspired her to examine “how pregnancy is unbelievably weird and identity-shifting and scary and cool.”
In a comic posted on Mutha Magazine, Knisley offered a teaser to the project with tidbits on morning sickness, body issues, and a baby app. The publisher has scheduled the release for 2018. (via the First Second Books tumblr page)
