James Patterson Chooses Co-Author From MasterClass

James Patterson has selected Kecia Bal to co-author his next book for the new imprint BookShots.

Bal won the competition from Patterson’s MasterClass. The contest, which debuted in February, gives aspiring writers the chance to compete to co-author a BookShots title with Patterson.

BookShots is Patterson’s new imprint, which debuts this month. These titles are designed to attract people who think books are too long. The will be under 150 pages and will be heavily plot-driven in the way a television show or movie might be. Bal won the prize based on her story idea and outline.
