If She Said It… It Works For Her?

Eat the Press has just posted an analysis of “Mezuza-Gate” that arrives at a provocative conclusion: if events really happened the way the HarperCollins leakers say they happened, it could actually help Regan’s lawsuit. Whuh? No, think about it: If Regan really did brag at work about desecrating a bunch of mezuzot, and all she got was a slap on the wrist from HR, it undermines Harper’s decision to fire her after that infamous phone call and the alleged “Jewish cabal” line. “The more evidence there is that Regan talked trash like this all the time,” says ETP, “the harder it will be for HarperCollins to suddenly claim that they were shocked—shocked!—that she would dare speak that way.”

As for whether you should take this analysis seriously, well, ETP tagteamers Melissa Lafsky and Rachel Sklar (our former Fishbowl colleague!) are both former lawyers…and they called the breach of contract suit when it was still just a gleam in Bert Fields‘s eye.
