Happy National Handwriting Day

By Dianna Dilworth

handwrittentweetsToday is National Handwriting Day — a day to get out your pens and write something. The event was founded in 1977 by the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association (WIMA) to fight the loss of penmanship. It falls on John Hancock’s birthday.

Molskine is celebrating the event with a campaign that encourages handwritten tweets. How do you hand write a tweet? Write something on paper and then take a photo with your phone and tweet the handwriting with using the hashtags: #HandwritingDay and #mHDay.

Zane-Bloser is hosting the Zaner-Bloser 2014 National Handwriting Contest, a contest which is giving away over $100,000 worth of prizes to students that show off their beautiful handwriting.

How are you celebrating?
