Netflix plans to create a new original series starring the Marvel character Iron Fist. Finn Jones (pictured, via) has been hired to take on the role of Daniel Rand (a.k.a. Iron Fist).
Here’s more from The Hollywood Reporter: “Iron Fist centers on Daniel Rand, who fights against the criminal elements corrupting New York with his kung fu skills and ability to summon the power of the fiery Iron Fist. The series picks up with Rand returning to the Big Apple after having gone missing for several years.”
Variety reports that Marvel and Netflix planned to develop at least five series: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. The fifth show will feature the four “street-level” superheroes fighting as a collective. (via Screen Crush)
