Alcon Entertainment to Create the Pete the Cat TV Show

Pete the Cat (GalleyCat)Alcon Entertainment will transform the Pete the Cat children’s books into an animated television series. James Dean, an artist, and Eric Litwin, a writer, released the first book, Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, in 1999.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Dean will serve as a consulting producer on the adaptation project. To date, 22 Pete the Cat books have been published.

Here’s more from Deadline: “The project was brought to Alcon by Appian Way. Jeff ‘Swampy’ Marsh, co-creator and executive producer of the hit Disney Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb, has been tapped as showrunner. He will executive produce alongside Alcon co-founders and co-CEO’s Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, recently appointed Alcon Television President Laura Lancaster, as well as Appian Way Partner Jennifer Davisson.”
