WarnerMedia Will Sell CNN Center

By Christine Zosche

WarnerMedia announced Monday that it will be selling the legendary CNN Center in downtown Atlanta, the building that served as the global headquarters for CNN for nearly 30 years (1987-2014). (TVNewser)

The company said it will move most of the employees who work at the center to its Techwood campus in Atlanta over the next several years. The company will lease back the CNN Center for at least five years and said there would be no immediate impact on the staffers working there. (Bloomberg)

While most newscasts are now anchored from New York and Washington, CNN Center control rooms and production teams keep the network humming around the clock. Key functions like CNN.com and the standards and practices department are based there. (CNN)

The company’s HLN cable network continues to hold forth from the facility, as do some of the operations related to CNN Newsource, a service for affiliates and stations, and CNN en Espanol and CNN International. (Variety)
