Additionally, after two years operating in Asia, streaming service iflix is expanding into the Middle East and North Africa. The company, which has positioned itself as a Netflix alternative in countries where the streaming giant has less market share, has launched in eight territories in the two regions, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Egypt and Sudan. And after being locked out of the massive Chinese market by regulators, Netflix looks set to be able to enter the country after all. The company has signed a licensing deal with local streaming service iQiyi, which claims more than 500 million monthly users. (Mashable)
