The House of Representatives voted to impeach the president following a day-long debate on whether Trump violated his oath in pressuring Ukraine to damage a political opponent. (NBC News)

The vote was 230 to 197 on the first of two articles of impeachment—abuse of power—with one member voting present. The House then passed the second article—obstruction of Congress—with a vote of 229 to 198, with one member voting present. (NPR)

Wednesday’s votes in the House will send the two articles to the Senate, where Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has said he’ll hold an impeachment trial early next year. (The Hill)
