Ryan Seacrest’s Oscars Red Carpet Ratings Drop 43% from 2017

Ryan Seacrest’s coverage of the Academy Awards red carpet arrivals for E! on Sunday took a significant hit in the Nielsen ratings. E!’s red carpet coverage, which Seacrest hosted, averaged a 0.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 1.3 million viewers. That is down approximately 43 percent in the key demographic and approximately 35 percent in total viewers compared to its coverage in 2017. (Variety)

The special, which had drawn extra attention ahead of Sunday with misconduct claims resurfacing against Seacrest, aired live from 5-8 p.m. ET from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. E! said its full lineup of Oscar programming Sunday—the 10 a.m.-starting Countdown To The Red Carpet, Live From The Red Carpet, Red Carpet Rundown and E! After Party—drew 5.5 million total unique viewers. (Deadline)

It’s not all bad for Seacrest’s TV draw this week. Monday’s post-Oscar episode of Live With Kelly And Ryan is pacing for its most watched episode since he officially joined Kelly Ripa as co-host last May. The episode, filmed at the Dolby Theatre just hours after the Oscars, fetched a 3.0 rating among households and topped all other syndicated series. (THR / Live Feed)
