The United States Office of Special Counsel (OSC) has released its findings into possible violations of the Hatch Act by Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Trump. The OSC has found Conway violated the act on two separate occasions, by going on television and openly supporting failed Alabama candidate Roy Moore. (Mediaite)

In a new report, the OSC special counsel, Henry Kerner, pointed to Conway’s TV interviews conducted in her “official capacity” in November and December of last year. The agency said Conway “impermissibly mixed official government business with political views about candidates in the Alabama special election. One of the two interviews was on CNN’s New Day, and the second was on Fox News’ Fox & Friends. (CNN)

The report also details how Conway was briefed in some manner at least five separate times on the Hatch Act and the consequences for violating it. (ABC News)

In a release that accompanied the report itself, the office said it was submitting its report to the president “for disciplinary action.” The White House pushed back against the findings. “Kellyanne Conway did not advocate for or against the election of any particular candidate,” deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley said on Tuesday.
