President Biden Grants Super Bowl Sunday Interview to Norah O’Donnell

President Biden will take part in an interview with CBS News to be broadcast just before the Super Bowl Sunday evening, the network announced. The interview will be conducted by CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell. (New York Post)

According to the network, the recorded interview is slated to run sometime in the 4 p.m. hour. CBS is expected to release excerpts of the interview during Friday night’s broadcast of CBS Evening News and during Sunday morning’s Face The Nation. (Sports Illustrated)

The tradition of interviewing a commander in chief before a Super Bowl telecast started in 2004. That was when Jim Nantz interviewed President George W. Bush. (Deadline)

President Trump gave a few Super Bowl interviews, to Fox in 2017 and 2020 and to CBS in 2019, but he skipped 2018, when NBC was the broadcaster. (THR)
