Kimberly Guilfoyle Says She’s Talking with Trump Administration About Press Secretary Job

Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former first lady of San Francisco and current Fox News host, is in conversations with the Trump administration about becoming White House press secretary, she said in an interview Monday night. (Mercury News)

If Guilfoyle, best known as co-host of Fox News’ The Five, were to step into the position, she would be replacing current press secretary Sean Spicer, who has been oft-criticized since taking the mantle in January. Guilfoyle’s name was reportedly raised by Trump himself in recent meetings, according to reports by The New York Times. (THR)

“I’m a patriot, and it would be an honor to serve the country,” Guilfoyle said. “I think it’d be a fascinating job, it’s a challenging job, and you need someone really determined and focused, a great communicator in there with deep knowledge to be able to handle that position.” She described Spicer as “a very nice man and a patriot” who “puts a lot of effort” into the job. Fox News says Guilfoyle is under a “long term” contract and won’t be going anywhere. “Kimberly is a valued member of the Fox News prime-time lineup, and is under a long-term contract with the network,” a network spokesperson said in a statement. (Politico / On Media)
