Judge May Force Rupert Murdoch to Testify in Dominion Defamation Case

By Brad Pareso

The judge in the Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation case against Fox News signaled his interest Wednesday in the duty that executives like Rupert Murdoch might have to stop known liars from going on-air and suggested he might force Murdoch to testify. (CNN)

On Monday, a lawyer representing Fox had submitted a letter to the judge requesting that Murdoch, along with his son Lachlan Murdoch, Fox Corp. chief legal and policy officer Viet D. Dinh, and former House speaker Paul D. Ryan, a board member, not be compelled to testify at the trial, which is scheduled to begin April 17. (WaPo)

After Fox finished its arguments, a lawyer for several media outlets, including The New York Times, asked the judge to review redactions that Fox had made to some of the communications it handed over, arguing that Fox kept too much confidential. Judge Davis said he would consider the request. (NYT)
