Heather Nauert Has Been Named State Department Spokesperson

Heather Nauert has officially been named spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State in the Trump administration. (TVNewser)

Nauert has been on Fox News’ Fox & Friends since 2012 and also co-anchored other programs and served as correspondent. The State Department noted she has reported on the 9/11 terror attacks, the war in Iraq and the genocide in Darfur. (Variety)

The job had been filled on an acting basis by Mark Toner, a career diplomat who served as deputy spokesman during the last years of President Obama’s presidency. (AP)
