Nauert has been on Fox News’ Fox & Friends since 2012 and also co-anchored other programs and served as correspondent. The State Department noted she has reported on the 9/11 terror attacks, the war in Iraq and the genocide in Darfur. (Variety)
The job had been filled on an acting basis by Mark Toner, a career diplomat who served as deputy spokesman during the last years of President Obama’s presidency. (AP)
