The service will roll out in the first week of June, at $9.99 a month—$5 less than the ad-free version launched a year ago. The announcement came at the end of WarnerMedia’s virtual upfront presentation to advertisers. (Deadline)

WarnerMedia ad sales head JP Colaco said the ad-supported HBO Max service will have the “lightest ad load in the industry,” but he didn’t specify what that will actually mean. (Variety)

Additionally, in a bid to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, WarnerMedia has formally greenlit an unscripted quiz show and retrospective special that will air over five nights on HBO Max and linear networks Cartoon Network and TBS at a date to be determined this year.
