Gayle King Slams CBS for Not Releasing Results of Moonves Investigation

Gayle King was missing from Monday’s CBS This Morning, after attending a wedding in Europe, but when she returned Tuesday she didn’t hold back from commenting on the recent developments involving former CBS CEO Les Moonves, who stepped down Sunday after more women came forward with sexual misconduct claims against him. “I’m so sorry again that it hits so close to home for us,” she said Tuesday. “I’m sick and sick of the story and sickened by everything that we keep hearing.” While she acknowledged Moonves’ denials of the accounts, describing his actions as consensual, King also noted, “I would think it would be in his best interest for us to hear what the report finds out.” “I don’t know how we move forward if we don’t, we at CBS, don’t have full transparency about what we find.” (Mediaite)

Meanwhile, Time’s Up is calling on CBS’ board of directors to give the $120 million reserved for Moonves’ severance to organizations that address sexual harassment and workplace safety. (Deadline)

Additionally, former Turner Broadcasting CEO John Martin and newly added CBS board member Richard Parsons have emerged as two top external candidates to replace Moonves as permanent CBS Corp. CEO, sources say. (Variety)
