W+K, MJZ Top AICPs

By Kiran Aditham

Amongst the heavy traffic, nice hors d’oeuvres and plenty of drink at the MoMA, one could almost forget that there were awards to be handed at the AICPs. A nice schmoozefest, though not one for the claustrophobic types, the Association of Independent Commercial Producers heaped tons of praise on MJZ, which won 12 awards including Tom Kuntz’s “The Man Your Man Can Smell Like” for Old Spice in the Advertising Excellence/Single Commercial in category.

The agency behind the ad, Wieden+Kennedy, nabbed 14 honors if you also count the Next Awards. The agency picked up AICP prizes such as Levi’s “America” in the Cinematography, Visual Style and Editorial category.

On the prodco side, Biscuit Filmworks and @radical.media each picked up five honors for campaigns like HBO’s “Imagine” and Dos Equis “Treasure Chest,” respectively. On the agency side, other big winners including BBDO New York, which earned six AICP awards while EURO RSCG, New York, Chiat New York and TAG San Francisco each won four.
