We Hear: Draftfcb Chicago Layoffs

Numerous tipsters have been telling us that Draftfcb Chicago cut staff this week, ranging anywhere from 35 to 70. A source familiar with the matter chimes in with a somewhat vague comment, saying, “There have been some slight changes in Chicago, but we’re consistent…we’re always managing to performance, and always making sure we have the right mix of talent and skill level within the agency to meet our clients’ needs.” Our source adds that “Draftfcb Chicago continues to be our largest and most successful agency in the global network.”

Update: We have a bit more info on this from the Draftfcb camp, which tells us that less than two percent of the agency’s US workforce was affected. Additionally, while some spies alleged that Draft lost the Hampton account, the agency says that it handles  both the offline creative for both the Homewood Suites and Hampton brands.
