VMLY&R Promotes Creative Director on Bumble to Executive Creative Director

VMLY&R promoted agency veteran Allison Pierce to the role of executive creative director, following two years as a creative director.

Pierce will continue to be based out of the Kansas City office and report to VMLY&R North American CCO John Godsey.

“Alli is a creative force,” Godsey said in a statement. “First off, she is an incredible writer and her ability to connect a brand’s essence to a human insight is uncanny. Then once she makes that connection, she finds ways to execute ideas that have never been done before.”

“Alli has been an integral part of our creative journey at VMLY&R,” added VMLY&R global CCO Debbi Vandeven. “Her leadership will continue to help us write our future. And while we can’t always predict what’s next in this business, we can always count on Alli to help invent it.”

Pierce joined VMLY&R in 2010 as a senior copywriter on Gatorade, following three years at Barkley as a copywriter working with brands including Sonic Drive-In, Blue Bunny Ice Cream, Build-A-Bear Workshop and Pennsylvania Tourism. She has overseen creative for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development for the past five years and recently led an all-female creative team on the first Super Bowl ad for Bumble, starring Serena Williams.

During her stint she has at VMLY&R she has worked with current and former client brands including Gatorade, Wendy’s, Kashi, Electrolux/Frigidaire and Cobra Puma Golf. Over the course of her career, her work has earned accolades including from Cannes Lions, the One Show, Effies and Clios.
