VMLY&R Names Abbie Baehr Chief Strategy Officer for the New York Office

By Kyle O'Brien

VMLY&R has appointed Abbie Baehr as chief strategy officer of the New York office, further expanding the agency’s executive strategic leadership. The role adds strategic leadership for the flagship office, which features key client accounts including Dell, New Balance, Coca-Cola, Colgate, Advil and Ford.

Baehr will report to Ian Davidson, chief strategy officer, North America.

“The VMLY&R strategic C-suite has never been stronger with the addition of Abbie Baehr,” said Davidson in a statement. “Abbie’s addition will be a valuable asset to our strategic leadership. I can’t wait to see the groundbreaking work she will deliver alongside our outstanding clients and agency teams.”

Baehr joins VMLY&R from Crispin Porter + Bogusky New York, where she served as chief strategy officer of North America. Over the course of her career, Baehr has worked with brands including Coca-Cola, American Express, Verizon, Walmart, Microsoft and Diageo.

Prior to CP+B, Baehr served in a number of strategy roles at McCann Worldgroup. Her appointment expands the strategic leadership of VMLY&R, following the hiring of Andrea Ring, who was named global chief strategy officer earlier this year.

“VMLY&R is one of the only agencies that truly has all the skill sets to provide a full offering of what clients need today,” said Baehr in a statement. “I feel like I’ve been given a treasure trove of talent and I am excited to apply that to truly transformative work.”

Outside of work, Baehr spends her time volunteering with the furry friends of Badass Animal Rescue in Brooklyn.
