Today on the Menu: The Torrid Tales of NYC Publicity, as Told by Former PR Guy

By Matt Van Hoven

Rovert Rave spent nine years hustling in New York’s lifestyle, fashion, nightlife, and entertainment publicity arena. Though it’s not the career for the now LA-based writer, his experiences there were fodder for his new book Spin.

Many of the stories came from friends and colleagues in the business, too &#151 like the one about the publicist who, for a big campaign launch, invited all of New York’s so-and-sos. It’s the sort of tragic tale you’d expect to see on “The Hills” &#151 but you know that stuff is all fake. Rave’s book is the real thing. Listen to learn more.
