TBWA\Chiat\Day ‘Pirate’ Nobbie Kim Heads to Agency Job Startup Siftly

By Patrick Coffee

In yet another case of a veteran creative joining a startup, Nobbie Kim officially became managing director and cd at Siftly, which describes itself as “the first job-matching site” for agencies.

You may remember Kim’s many auto brand campaigns (portfolio here) or the 2011 “blood oath” in which he promised to create “one piece of iconic work” within the following six months at TBWA Los Angeles.

He most recently spent a year at Omnicom’s Kern and indie agency Rauxa.

Siftly founder Frank Striefler launched the company in 2015 after serving as svp of planning at Innocean; he previously worked at several other West Coast shops including Phenomenon, Wunderman and Zambezi on a contract basis, and also served as head of strategy at 180LA, TBWA and MAL.

Here’s a how-to video.

“Having Nobbie at the helm gives us the benefit of an industry insider that understands the needs of Candidates and Hiring Managers alike,” said Striefler, who called him “a shot in the arm for us.”

The press release described Kim as Striefler’s “fellow TBWA\Chiat\Day pirate.”

Kim said: “One of my favorite things about being a CD was finding that hidden gem of a Creative that fit perfectly on my team and made us and the agency all the better. Now, I get to do that on a grander scale in SIFTLY.”
