R/GA Promotes 3 to Senior-Level Roles in Austin

R/GA Austin has promoted three new leaders internally as the agency’s 5-year-old Texas office continues to mature.

VP, managing director Candice Hahn added a senior to her title. Since joining in 2014 as the agency’s first U.S. female office lead, she has helped expand total staff by 160 percent as the team won several accounts including Newgistics, Smartfood and Red Rock Deli.

Similarly, senior technology director Katrina Bekessy has been promoted to executive tech director and CD Murray Wise to group creative director.

Bekessy, who has been with the network for nearly a decade, was a founding member of the Austin office. Since then she’s led tech operations in Texas while also assisting with the agency’s teams in Latin America and running major product development projects for clients like McCormick and Fossil.

Wise came to Austin three years ago after nearly two decades in London at TBWA, Havas and more. His work has been recognized by Cannes, D&AD, Creative Circle and more.

While the Austin office has a much lower profile than R/GA New York, it has been expanding; 8 new hires were announced in May.

Additional clients include Mercedes, Sonic, Verizon and Crocs.
