Revolving Door Agency Moves: Blue Chip, Magic Camp, Within & More

This week brings new awards won, partnerships formed and campaigns launched by agencies across the globe.

&Barr won 12 ADDYs at the Orlando American Advertising Awards. These include a best in show award, plus four gold ADDYs and seven silver ADDYs.

AAF Los Angeles

The American Advertising Federation of Los Angeles, a chapter of the national organization that represents 35,000 advertising professional around the country, held its Los Angeles ADDYS Gala recently. Here is a list of the winners.

ATTN:

The Female Quotient (The FQ), an equality platform working to close the gender gap, and ATTN:, a purpose-driven, storytelling media company and a division of Candle Media, have partnered to address issues facing women in the workplace and close gender gaps across industries. The partnership will kick off with The AI Opportunity, a platform that will educate and empower women to seize opportunities in AI.

B. Partners

Industry leaders Ariana Rae Diverio and Laura Miranda launched B. Partners, a boutique strategy consulting firm. The firm launched under underdog & company, a family of sports and entertainment marketing agencies.

Barrett Hofherr

Barrett Hofherr was named agency of record for specialty apparel retailer DXL Group. The agency will lead all U.S. advertising for DXL.

Bloom North

Bloom North launches a new mentoring program alongside a new charity partner, the Miscarriage Association. The program provides individuals in media, creative, PR, digital and communications, at any stage of their career, to access a mentor and receive career advice and support.

Blue Chip

Blue Chip introduced its new Impact OS suite, which includes seven planning, activation and measurement tools. These tools blend the “why” and “how” to help marketers maximize campaign performance.

Carmichael Lynch

Tierney, a marketing communications firm in the mid-Atlantic, will become part of Carmichael Lynch effective May 1. With the addition of this office, the expanded full-service agency will maintain its headquarters in Minneapolis, along with offices in New York and now Philadelphia. Both agencies are owned by Interpublic Group. Mary Stengel Austen, co-founder and CEO of Tierney, will be stepping down from her role on March 31 and Tracey Santilli, who Austen appointed president of Tierney in 2022, will continue in that role.

Crimtan

Crimtan received gold standard certification by the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) in the buy side support category. This illustrates the company’s commitment to elevating standards and rostering responsible advertising practices.

Curious Jane

Curious Jane was chosen as the new franchise development marketing agency for College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving. The agency will develop and implement advertising and marketing strategy for the national franchise brand.

Curious Plot

Curious Plot’s Seed to Succeed philanthropic and community support initiative is back for its 15th year. This year, the program invites nonprofit organizations in agriculture, food or companion animal care to apply for $75,000 in in-kind agency services.

DEI & Workplace Mentoring Summit

The DEI & Workplace Mentoring Summit, led by Mentor Independence Region, Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence and presenting sponsor TD Bank, is returning to Philadelphia, hosted by Independence Blue Cross. The summit aims to highlight leaders in DEI and showcase how workplace mentoring supports organizations in achieving DEI goals.

The Garden

Creative agency The Garden has been named agency of record for Carlsberg Canada. The Toronto agency won the business as part of an RFP process that launched last year. The agency’s first work will be a traditional and social campaign for a new product launch scheduled for spring.

Halal

Halal joined forces with a fellow independent production company, Simon & Paul, to create a new production superpower. Simon & Paul will now exclusively represent Halal’s roster of directors and photographers, bringing cutting-edge storytellers to the German market.

Hanson Dodge

Potawatomi Business Development Corporation, the economic development and income diversification business of the Forest County Potawatomi Community, has rebranded as Potawatomi Ventures, with a new name, logo and tagline, developed in partnership with Milwaukee-based agency Hanson Dodge, which was awarded B2B and consulting duties for Potawatomi earlier this year.

Havas

Havas has acquired social agency Wilderness, bringing deep social marketing expertise to Havas globally and enhancing the existing social media services offered within Havas Village London, its PR agencies and Havas Play. Wilderness will join Havas Play, gaining access to the network’s global scale and client base and contributing to its growth story.

Imagine This

Imagine This, a multi-faceted creative studio, was launched by a group of next-generation creative leaders from the U.S., U.K. and South Africa. The studio aims to bridge the gap between creative strategy, production solutions and artist representation.

Ingenuity

Ingenuity acquired sponsorship specialist Reg&Co. The acquisition aims to build upon Ingenuity’s brand partnerships division with the addition of industry-leading talent, new sponsorship offerings and strategic consulting services.

Laughlin Constable

Laughlin Constable is partnering with the Milwaukee World Festival for the third year in a row. The agency will develop creative strategy and assets to promote Summerfest 2024.

Magic Camp

FCB alums Holly Willis and Mandi Bright partnered to launch Magic Camp, a full-service advertising agency. Built for the modern marketer, the agency is redefining the traditional structure of advertising agencies.

New York Festivals

The New York Festivals Advertising Awards has named Harbor Picture Company as host of the 2024 Advertising Awards Film Craft Executive Jury, with CEO Zak Tucker serving as jury chair.

The One Club for Creativity

The One Club’s 14th “Where Are All The Black People” conference and career fair will hold its Where Are All The Black People (WAATBP) diversity conference and career fair on September 26-27 in New York. The annual gathering addresses and corrects the lack of diversity within the ad industry, bringing together Black voices from across the ad community. The conference is a hybrid event, and in order to make the event as accessible as possible, WAATBP is free for job seekers and students to attend.

Within was named as media agency of record for Foot Locker Inc. North America. The performance branding firm will lead omni-channel media strategy and execution for all Foot Locker brands.
