Just last year, Red Bull sponsored athlete Shane McKonkey died attempting to perform a groundbreaking new stunt that had him jumping off cliffs and parachuting down a mountainside only to land, jump again, release his skiis and glide like a flying squirrel to safety (with the help of a wing-suit and second parachute). Except a ski got stuck, he lost altitude and fell to his death. Oh well, back to it — on New Year’s Eve, the energy drink brand helped Travis Pastrana jump his Subaru rally car 269 feet over Long Beach Harbor.
