Oracle Prez Probably Not Fond of Outdoor Ads Anymore

While it’s perhaps not quite on the scale of Tiger Woods’ or John Edwards’ indiscretions, Oracle president Charles Phillips’ own extramarital activity is now on display for the whole world to see-well, at least Atlanta, NYC and San Francisco.

His ex-mistress YaVaughnie Wilkins was thinking bigger than a Facebook or Twitter post when she decided to profess her love for her man and utterly humiliate him in the process. Wilkins bought up billboards in the three aforementioned cities that included the message “You are my soulmate forever!” as well as a link to a site (which is down now) featuring images of the couple together. More embarrassing, there are scans of dozens of florist cards apparently signed by Philips himself bearing notes for Wilkins like “I’m sorry, please forgive me,” “I’m crazy about you” and ‘We’re going to have a great life, stick with me.”

Phillips has now admitted to the affair, saying, “I had an 8 1/2-year serious relationship with YaVaughnie Wilkins. My divorce proceedings began in 2008. The relationship with Ms. Wilkins has since ended and we both wish each other well.”

Gawker/Valleywag, which broke the story, says this could be a revenge plot because Phillips is rekindling romance with his wife and/or a mission to sabotage Oracle’s all-day live event next week to celebrate its acquisition of Sun Microsystems. Or maybe Wilkins is just a big fan of Apple and didn’t want to overshadow the possible tablet announce next week.

Update: The NY Daily News reports that one of the three Manhattan billboards have been yanked.
