Many of you may consider working for Google worse than going client side, given their impending takeover of the industry. But for the remainder, I thought you might like to take a peek at one of the latest gigs this up-and-coming advertiser has open.

Since this position applies to roughly 90 percent of the recent layoffs we’ve seen (although, fewer have been reported in the last few days) have been account side, this job only seemed appropriate. Senior Account Executives drive revenue by selling Google’s mobile solutions to top-tier advertisers. This is a high-energy job requiring persistent and persuasive interactions with clients, deep mobile and Internet expertise, proven sales skills, the ability to work collaboratively with internal sales teams, closing deals, strong communication skills and a broad base of mobile industry contacts. You think strategically, anticipate how decisions are made, and understand the details of individual campaigns, and you’ll persistently explore and uncover the business needs of key clients. You’ll also promote and manage
senior-level relationships to ensure that your customers’ needs and requirements are met. This means you’ll take their feedback and serve as their advocate within Google while collaborating with other Google Sales teams to provide them with a comprehensive portfolio of options and customized solutions.

Responsibilities:

Build and maintain a strong knowledge of Google Mobile products, solutions and technologies.

Develop relationships at all levels within the regional mobile community and with agencies dedicated to the mobile space.

Help support and collaborate with Google National Sales teams on mobile initiatives.

Represent Google Mobile at marketing and advertising events.

Provide solid marketplace feedback for mobile strategy, collateral, core pitches and case studies.

BA or BS degree (demonstrably strong academic performance preferred).

At least 10 years of progressive work experience in mobile and advertising sales.

Ability to work in a dynamic environment, combining your strategizing, planning and problem-solving skills.

In-depth knowledge of traditional, digital and mobile media and its competitive landscape.

Strong mobile industry presence and contacts in your region.

Proven record of strategic development in a Fortune 1000 client base.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
