Japanese video game colossus Nintendo has seen has its net income rise 47.7 per cent in the past year up until March 2008 — boosted by surging demand for its family-orientated Wii and portable DS consoles.
The company saw its net income rise to 257.3 billion yen ($247 billion USD) with sales of Wii machines hitting the 18.6 million mark.
Sales of the hand-held Nintendo DS hit 30.31 million units in the year to the end of March.
