Lisa Loeb Reimagines ‘Stay’ as a Promotion for Old Bay Seasoned Goldfish

By Kyle O'Brien

Fans of Goldfish crackers really missed the Old Bay flavor of the snacks, so much that they got ’90s pop singer Lisa Loeb to sing fan tweets to the tune of her hit, “Stay (I Missed You).”

In thousands of posts on social media, Goldfish and Old Bay fans across the country proclaimed their love for Old Bay Seasoned Goldfish crackers last spring, and due to the clamor, the brand brought back the favorite flavor.

Loeb was then brought in to sing lines like “the greatest snack to ever grace my tongue,” and “OMG…Old Bay Goldfish” to her catchy 1994 song.

The new music video features Loeb holding a bag of Old Bay Seasoned Goldfish crackers in an empty apartment that closely resembles her iconic original music video.

“Goldfish fans made it clear—they love this flavor and wanted it to stay, so we brought it back. Their praise read like a love song, so we created one featuring actual fan posts about their passion for Old Bay Seasoned Goldfish,” said Janda Lukin, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Campbell Snacks in a statement. “They’re back—and this time accompanied by the love ballad they deserve.”

The limited-time flavor will be available in May wherever Goldfish are sold. Fans can also visit mccormick.com/goldfish and purchase a 2-pack. The limited-time offer flavor became one of the fastest-selling new product innovations in brand history when it first came out and sold out on the McCormick site within hours.

Fans are encouraged to tag @GoldfishSmiles and @OldBaySeasoning on social media to show the ways they are enjoying Old Bay Seasoned Goldfish.
