John Mellencamp’s Kid Uses Facebook to Convince Him to Quit Smoking

We first heard this story over the weekend on NPR’s Weekend Edition. Basically, John Mellencamp’s kid, Speck, has turned to Facebook in an attempt to convince his dad to quit smoking. He got his dad to agree that if a Facebook group built by Speck picked up 1,000,000 followers, he’d quit.

“He told me he thought it was just gonna be a couple of my friends who joined the group,” said Speck in an interview with NPR.

As of today, there are 242,630 members of the group “1,000,000 to join, my dad john mellencamp will quit smoking“. So, tell your friends, or whatever.
