iCrossing, the digital agency owned by publishing giant Hearst, has named Frederic Bonn as its new executive creative director. He will lead the New York/eastern region and replace Ogilvy and DigitasLBi veteran Patrick Bennett, who recently left the shop after five years.

Prior to making the move, Bonn had been with the JWT organization for three years, leading its digital creative team in New York before becoming North American chief creative officer for its Mirum division in 2015.

Bonn will now oversee all creative work including video production in the eastern region and report to president Mark Mulhern, himself a former account director at BBDO. According to the release, Bonn will aim to increase the “creative thinking and execution” within iCrossing’s analytics, web design, SEO and media-based offering.

“From the moment I first met with the iCrossing team, I saw the amazing potential of joining the only agency that is part a content, entertainment and media company, Hearst,” Bonn’s statement reads.

Mulhern added, “Great marketing work today has to be ‘pretty & gritty’ meaning it’s got to stand out in every channel, but it’s got to perform just as well. Our clients love this simple mantra, and it’s exactly what iCrossing is focused on delivering consistently in 2017.”

iCrossing’s work often goes below the line, but its client roster includes Mitsubishi Motors, TD Bank, UGG, LG and Hampton Hotels in addition to various partners of its parent company Hearst, owner of The San Francisco Chronicle, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, The Oprah Magazine and many others as well as portions of A&E and ESPN.
