Huge Went Through a Round of Layoffs in Atlanta

By Erik Oster

IPG’s Huge Atlanta went through a round of layoffs in its Atlanta offices late last month, according to several sources who reached out to AgencySpy.

These parties put the total number of employees impacted at around 20, and they offered conflicting information as to whether the layoffs were related to the loss of a single client.

Managing director Carrie Philpott, who was promoted in 2017 and previously managed Digitas Atlanta, also announced earlier this month that she would be leaving the agency. Sources said her departure was unrelated to the other staffing changes.

A representative for the agency declined to comment.

This news follows the IPG agency hiring former Razorfish lead Pete Stein as global CEO in May. Back in February, creative director Hugh Connelly also relocated from Atlanta to Singapore and was promoted to executive creative director as the agency named five new creative leads shortly after being named creative agency of record for Realtor.com. In March, Brooks Running also named Huge as its integrated agency of record.
