Here’s What the Wedding Invite-for-a-Job Guy is Up To

By Kiran Aditham

Continuing in our apparent theme of wedding/job-seeking-related posts this week, we though we’d update you on the happenings of one George Roca, who during the summer offered to invite someone to his nuptials in Vermont, all-expenses paid, if they could land him a plum agency gig. Roca has been looking for work ever since he was laid off in May from Y&R New York after spending three-and-a-half years there as a producer.

Well, at least the wedding part’s worked out as Roca dropped a line in our tips box, telling us, “I’m all married up now after a beautiful and successful wedding day.” Good for you, George, but it appears the dream full-time gig is still just that, though Roca has produced a new spot for LensCrafters (watch it here) created by Marcel/Publicis and directed by Kevin Thomas (he of AmEx “Faces” fame). So, we guess he’s still in freelance mode but we’re double-checking with Roca to see if a full-time job is in the works and if he actually did end up inviting a potential job connect to the wedding. We know you were just aching for an update on this. You can thank us later.
