GM’s Board Set to Review New Campaign Today (Dun dun duuuun)

By Matt Van Hoven

“Diagonal slice” meetings are code for “wtf is happening” meetings that are held by the board of GM. Today, the board will hold one such meeting to review the big marketing push that’s slated to go public later this month.

“On Tuesday, the board also will review a major marketing campaign the company plans to unleash later this month. The marketing push is linked to [GM board Chairman Edward E.] Whitacre’s insistence that GM find a way to boost revenue and halt its declining U.S. market share.”

The board will also decide what to do with a failing Opel (see video)and Vauxhall brands. European labor representatives are criticizing the delay in this decision, noting that it pushes the companies further toward insolvency and could, “could put the two brands at risk“.
