Publicis agency Digitas has hired Amy Lanzi as CEO of Digitas North America to strengthen and grow the U.S. business.

In her new role, Lanzi will focus on delivering new solutions for Digitas clients, by utilizing the agency’s creative, media, data and technology expertise.

Most recently, Lanzi was chief operating officer for Publicis Commerce, where she built the commerce offering. She is an instrumental leader for Publicis Groupe, having led growth in the holding company’s new business efforts and modernizing commerce for its clients. Additionally, she drove the integration of Publicis Groupe’s recent commerce acquisitions, CitrusAd and Profitero, while spearheading key commerce partnerships.

Lanzi is a respected leader in the industry, earning honors and recognition including as a She Runs It Working Mother of the Year, Campaign US 40 Over 40 and inclusion in The Adweek 50 list in 2021. She is also a 2023 Creative Commerce Lions juror.

Prior to joining Publicis, Lanzi spent over 20 years at Omnicom’s TPN, where she helped grow the company from a team of 30 to 350 and expanded its presence to include offices in Chicago, San Francisco, Bentonville and London.

Digitas stated that Lanzi’s appointment as CEO further reinforces Digitas’ leadership in the next era of the agency’s momentum. She brings her commerce expertise to the agency’s expertise in building networked brand experiences for clients.

“Amy has a unique leadership profile that will positively impact our clients’ businesses,” said Jem Ripley, CEO of Publicis Digital Experience in a statement. “Amy has been instrumental in creating successful outcomes for our clients…I’m excited for the impact she will have on Digitas in accelerating breakthrough solutions for our clients and the continued momentum the agency will experience under her leadership.“

Lanzi will retain the chair position for Publicis Commerce and will succeed Jodi Robinson at Digitas. Robinson will be moving into a new innovation-focused role at Publicis, where she will be charged with continuing the market-leading differentiation of Publicis Groupe’s people, data and technology model and platform.

Robinson has been a leader at Digitas for 22 years and played an instrumental role in the agency’s impact to clients, its people, and its reputation as a digital-first, integrated agency.

“I’m thrilled to be joining an agency who has a long history of connecting platforms, people, and brands. Digitas has long been recognized for its work across data, creativity, media, and experience, showing it is a true unicorn when it comes to delivering unmatched client service,” said Lanzi in a statement.

Digitas has made several key changes in the last few years, including a brand identity refresh last year, and promoted Young Lee to chief strategy officer.
