Charlie Hurrell has joined mcgarrybowen London as managing director. She will work across all accounts and new business and report directly to mcgarrybowen London CEO Jason Gonsalves.

“We were looking for a unicorn: a creatively driven leader who gets data, media and technology, with the energy and charisma to help take us to the next level,” Gonsalves said in a statement. “Charlie is our unicorn, she’s a one-off and I’m delighted she’s joining Mcgarrybowen.”

Hurrell arrives at mcgarrybowen from MullenLowe London, where she has served as managing director since January. Before that she spent over four years as head of account management for the agency. That followed around five and a half years at glue Isobar in London, working her way up from group account director on McCain, Sky, COI and PlayStation to client service director. She has also served in account management roles at RKCR/Y&R and Fallon London.

“I believe the Dentsu Aegis Network and MGB as a catalyst within it, has the leadership and infrastructure to genuinely do something different by leaning into the areas that seem to make other agencies squeamish,” Hurrell added.  “There are super talented people there and from brilliant people come brilliant ideas, in all forms. It feels like all my experience so far can now really be brought to bear.”
