buderengel, BSSP, San Fran: “Lets Get This Party Started!”

By SuperSpy

It’s that time again. The International Advertising Association’s West Coast Chapter, which surely is the most boring, sedate association country wide (golf events anyone?), recently announced that 17 Bay Area agencies have entered its “Best of San Francisco Show.” Everybody get pumped! Get your hands up! Lets inject some excitement into this competition!

Expect to see AKQA, BSSP, DDB, Doremus, DraftFCB, Duncan/Channon, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Heat, McCann Erickson, Swirl and buderengle plus everyone else rep their creative. On October 29, we’ll see just whose crew owns the streets of SF.

By the way, what’s going on over at buderengle? The shop posts on their blog a measly one or two times a month and their Google news results are pretty slim for 2008, though in 2007, the agency did pick up the San Francisco 49ers as a client. You can also watch videos from most of their employees talking about their jobs, their families and their heroes. Watching them actually gets a little addictive in that Law & Order kind of way, where you sit down to watch one and then another comes on, so you watch that too. And then another… know what I mean?

Meanwhile, it seems that every ad agency is a Libra. Turns out that contender BSSP also just celebrated their 15th birthday. Check out the video above for more details. BSSP is still run by Greg Stern, Mike Shines, and John Butler out of Sausalito, CA and yes, they still have clients such as Walgreens, Mini-Cooper and Epson.
