Abdul Wahid Ovaice Joins Huge as Global ECD for Google Account

By Kyle O'Brien

Global experience agency Huge has named Abdul Wahid Ovaice as its global executive creative director to lead the Google account. He is no stranger to tech creative, having previously worked with companies including Oura, Facebook, Apple, Square, Nest and Google.

Ovaice will report directly to David Clarke, Huge’s chief design officer, North America, and will be responsible for overseeing all creative design and execution across the Google account, which spans 10 of the agency’s 13 offices.

“When Huge approached me, it was clear there was a unique opportunity to help Google create impact in people’s lives for the better. After spending time and connecting with the team, I knew I had found the inspiring people I wanted to spend my days with. Helping clients create better realities for their customers is what I’ve done my whole career, and I’m looking forward to making huge moves in this new chapter,” Ovaice told Adweek.

Most recently, Abdul served as executive creative director for Oura, a health technology company known for wellness wearables. In that role, he oversaw all brand creative from digital, brand systems, packaging, advertising and in-app brand experiences.

“Having worked with many other iconic brands to meet their customers’ needs, Abdul brings with him a wealth of experience alongside an enviable craft expertise. He’s perfectly positioned to collaborate with our Google clients to help them achieve successful outcomes,” Mark Manning, president at Huge West, told Adweek.

Huge recently partnered with Google to launch innovative new products and services, including Google TV and Google Pay, along with leading the rebranding of Android. Huge’s work with Google includes digital product strategy and design, branding, digital marketing, technology and experiential design.

Ovaice’s new role comes on the heels of Mat Baxter’s appointment to global chief executive officer in July, along with the recent announcement of Toni Lowe and Lisa De Bonis as global vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion and global chief experience officer, respectively.
