Indianapolis CW affiliate WISH has announced Elbert Tucker as its news director.
Tucker comes from WBNS in Columbus, Ohio. He’s been news director there since 2010. He started as an EP in 1992 at WKRC in Cincinnati, before working his way to news director in 2001. He’s also worked at WBRC in Birmingham, Ala. and WTVC in Chattanooga, Tenn.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the team at WISH-TV,” said Tucker. “I look forward to collaborating with the 24 Hour News 8 team in growing its commitment to news and to the Central Indiana community. Les and the management of Media General are very focused on building a strategy for success and I am grateful to now be part of that process.”

He replaces Steve Bray who started at WISH in 1995 as a meteorologist.
