Last Week Tonight host John Oliver used KSAZ meteorologist Cory McCloskey as one example of the many problems faced by transgender people.
In the clip played on the HBO show, McCloskey was puzzled by a transgender woman’s soundbite during the Phoenix FOX-owned station’s news. “What is a transgender woman?” asked McCloskey. “What does that even mean now?”
He may have escaped Oliver’s wrath if he had stuck to one of his points that we should just call her a woman. But he then added, “I can’t even keep up anymore.”

Fans let McCloskey know he made it on Oliver’s show. One wrote, “You made onto HBO! Sucks you look like an idiot though.”
