An NBC Boston bureau reporter who lives in Winooski, Vermont, says he dodged a bullet that came through the window of his apartment.

According to the Burlington Free Press, Jack Thurston, who also reports for New England Cable News, said he was getting ready for bed around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night when he heard an “incredibly loud sound.”

Thurston, who spoke to the paper, said he immediately knew it was a bullet.
