NBC News Producer Shocks Mom By Arranging Army Sister’s Surprise Return

Bianca Seward, an associate producer for NBC News based in Atlanta, concocted a Christmas surprise for her mom.

Bianca’s sister Army 1st Lt. Macaela Seward is based overseas. After graduating from Wake Forest, Macaela Seward trained at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri (where this writer’s father had his Army training in 1954). Macaela then moved to an Army Aviation Base in South Korea. She told her mom she hadn’t accrued enough time off to make it back for the holiday.

But the two sisters hatched a plan, and being the TV news producer that she is, Bianca Seward recorded the whole thing as they all reunited in New York today. Watch:
