GMA Launches 40-Hour Live Broadcast Tonight

By Mark Joyella

On the eve of Good Morning America’s 40th anniversary, ABC will kick off a 40-hour GMA broadcast at 5 p.m. ET Tuesday–leading up to “an unprecedented family reunion” involving former GMA hosts including David Hartman and Joan Lunden.

The “40 for 40” marathon will stream on ABCNews.com and ABC’s digital and social platforms, as well as on websites of some ABC stations.

The content will, like GMA, include a mix of hard news reporting from ABC News anchors and correspondents around the world, and lighter segments–including a “midnight snack” prepared by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey.

There will also be live music, with performances by One Direction, Gloria Estefan, and Celine Dion.
