Evening News Ratings: Week of Nov. 9

The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley was the only evening newscast to grow its viewership compared to the same week last year. The perennial No. 3 newscast also overtook ABC’s World News Tonight Friday night as news of the attacks in Paris were still breaking. CBS averaged 8.28 million viewers to ABC’s 8.13 million, and 2.09 million viewers in the A25-54 demo vs. ABC’s 1.97 million. The last time CBS topped ABC on a given night was March 5, 2014.

NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt won the week in both total viewers and the A25-54 demo, and had a commanding lead on Friday night, with a +7 percent lead in viewers and a +15 percent lead in the demo over its next nearest competitor, CBS Evening News.

Verses last year, Nightly was down -4 percent in viewers but up +3 percent in the demo. World News Tonight with David Muir was down -2 percent in viewers and down -11 percent in the demo. CBS was was up +5 percent in viewers and flat in the demo.
