CNN Leads Among International News Brands

Why would filmmaker Michael Moore change caps during a CNN interview? It may have something (or nothing) to do with a new study of global news brands that ranks CNN International first among news organizations with reach across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The Ipsos Affluent Survey Global finds CNN with 36 percent reach globally via TV and digital, beating the BBC, which had 27 percent reach. Sky News was third (24 percent), followed by Euronews (20 percent), Bloomberg (15 percent), CNBC (14 percent) and Al Jazeera English (10 percent).

Moore (above, right) first appeared wearing a BBC cap, but five minutes later, returning from a break, the BBC-branded lid was gone, replaced by a black cap bearing the CNN Digital logo (left).

Then again, showing up for an appearance on one network while wearing the logo of a competitor is one of the easiest ways to get yourself a free cap without even asking.
