Shorty Awards’ Greg Galant to moderate Lost Remote Show panel on the social TV fan

I’m excited to announce that Shorty Awards Cofounder and Executive Producer Greg Galant will be joining the roster for Lost Remote’s NYC event on April 24th. Galant will be moderating our panel on the social TV fan that currently includes reddit’s Erik Martin. Galant’s social TV expertise dates back to the first year he launched the Shorty Awards.

Galant also cofounded and oversees Sawhorse Media, the startup I work at, that includes both Shorty Awards, the “Oscars” of social media and Muck Rack, a platform and community of journalists on the social web. Galant is the reason I was first introduced to social TV when I learned about the infamous @PeggyOlson Twitter account, launched by social TV expert Carri Bugbee, who was revealed at the first annual Shortys.

Every since @PeggyOlson won a Shorty Award it’s been clear to us that Twitter fundamentally changes our relationship with TV,” Galant told Lost Remote. “While some networks were initially skeptical of it, it’s now obvious to all that tweeting is the antidote to DVR and may well be the savior of the industry.”

Galant is also responsible for the growth of the Shorty Industry Awards, a competition which honors the best brands and agencies social media marketing work.
