Who Should Be Slashed?

Take slash fiction. Certain people enjoy writing about romantic relationships between male characters in their favorite works of literature. Over the years, popular slash fiction subjects have included Harry Potter wizards and Star Trek heroes, but recently, this fan fiction sub-genre took a decidedly literary turn as fan authors took on Annie Proulx‘s characters from Brokeback Mountain.

Today, let us embrace slash fiction, both figuratively and literally. Let’s give Proulx a break, and suggest other literary characters that would make suitable fodder for future generations of slash devotees. Add your suggestions below, and brace yourself for a sexy round-up post.
